Spring Activities at Lovett Care

It is very important that we maintain a programme of activities to keep our residents active and entertained at our care homes. This forms a sense of community and in encouraging social interaction this helps to prevent loneliness and isolation. A varied calendar of activities is something everyone can look forward to and is beneficial to the well being of the individuals and the Lovett Care Home family. Spring has been a busy season so far. We had an Easter Bonnet competition and sing along from the Children of Oakhill Primary School. Meeting the children from the local school really helps to make our senior residents feel part of the wider community and they all enjoyed getting creative in making their bonnets. Beatrice Salt chose the winner and the school children chose Sheila Licheilli as the winner for the residents; both received a chocolate Easter egg as their prize. The residents have recently enjoyed a visit from 'Tails and Snails' where they enjoyed handling guinea pigs, snakes, rabbits, rats, and a bearded dragon!
