Simon Cole is Home Chef at Regency Care Home. Having moved from New Zealand 24 years ago, Simon has worked as a chef in a number of different venues and establishments ranging from pubs to luxury hotels. Simon has a Diploma in Culinary Arts and cites his career highlight as cooking for the Queen!
1. How long have you worked at Regency Care Home?
I have worked at Regency Care Home for 1 year.
2. What is your favourite part of your role?
I love cooking for residents and seeing them enjoy the food. It is especially rewarding to see them flourish because they are getting the right nutrients, which is important for everyone regardless of age! The staff at Regency Care Home are also great to work with. I have such a fabulous team behind me in the kitchen.
3. What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy gardening, especially growing tulips and lilies. I’m also a dab hand at painting and decorating, so you’ll often find me doing a bit of DIY when I’m not at work!
