Life At Twyford House In September

We’ve been having the best time lately here at Twyford House, with a huge range of activities taking place every day to keep residents smiling and having fun!

Thanks to the fantastic facilities at Twyford House, keeping residents occupied and engaged is easy! A community in and of itself, the care home has its own Terrace bar, gin lounge, cafe bistro, library, sense therapy room, and beauty clinic.

September Activities at Twyford House

Throughout September, we enjoyed a wide range of activities and special occasions.

Following the arrival of our first-ever resident, Edith Mills, at the end of August 2020, we had the pleasure of celebrating her 92nd birthday soon after, which was a complete joy. Edith had plenty of presents and cards, which were sent ahead by loved ones, and our wonderful Catering team made a fabulous cake for us all to enjoy too! When the presents were all opened and Edith had blown out her candles, we retired to the Terrace Bar for a relaxing evening of laughs and fun.

In September we also enjoyed our very own Macmillan Coffee Morning. While normally we would have wanted to throw open the doors and invite residents family and friends to raise money for this worthy cause, we couldn’t pass up the chance to enjoy a cuppa tea and a slice of cake! So, we rolled up our sleeves and got baking, whipping up a number of fantastic cakes and enjoying our very own Macmillan Coffee Morning in the fabulous cafe bistro.

Throughout the month, we’ve also continued with our usual programme of activities, including gentle strolls around our beautiful landscaped gardens, craft activities, and games. We also had the pleasure of enjoying a few themed evenings and movie nights at The Rex! Residents have enjoyed a spread of themed menus over the last few weeks to tantalize the taste buds before settling down in our cinema room to catch one of the classics!

The Fun Continues…

We are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse community at Twyford House. At the moment, we are engaging with the local community remotely and helping residents to enjoy virtual visits from family and friends. The team are constantly dreaming up creative and fun activity ideas, and residents too!

Keep an eye on our blog to see what we have been up to lately and all the latest news and information from Twyford House. With Christmas around the corner, we have lots of festive activities planned, too! Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well to see all the latest community happenings at our fantastic care home in Alsager.
